I am so glad I found this site. I looked for a very long time and could not find 
any mention of FSB Happy until now.  Yes Captain Spears was the CO of the base.

I was on FSB Happy until they deactivated and went home. I was not Arty MOS; 
I went as a cook but the base didn't need cooks so I became a Jack of all trades and master 
of none. I rode convoy to Tay Ninh to get supplies and helped out holding the flash light 
during fire missions I even helped place sensors outside the perimeter.
If you want some stories I have a few. 

I only have one letter with the names of a few of the guys which I will try and find.
I haven't read it in 20 years. I lost everything in the typhoon that hit Phu Bai which 
is where I was sent following the deactivation of the Arty unit.
